Are you looking for a simple, repeatable system to grow your business without feeling overwhelmed? Let me introduce you to the ATM Method—Add, Tag, Message. This three-step process is perfect for anyone building a team or sharing products because it simplifies your efforts and leverages the power of community. Let’s break it down.
What Is the ATM System?
The ATM system—Add, Tag, and Message—is a simple yet powerful process created by my late coach, Jessie Lee. This method helps connect potential customers or business partners with the information they need in a supportive, low-pressure environment.
Jessie’s passion and leadership continue to inspire, and her legacy lives on through systems like ATM that empower people to build authentic connections and grow their businesses.
Here’s how the system works:
1. Add
Start by inviting your prospects into a private Facebook group. This group is where they’ll find valuable information about our products and success stories from others.
Why this works:
Instead of overwhelming your prospects with a long explanation or pitch, the group does the heavy lifting for you. It serves as a one-stop shop where they can see posts, testimonials, and helpful resources.
Research shows that it can take up to 12 exposures for someone to make a buying decision. When you post high-quality content in the group—like sharing your personal transformation or giving a shoutout to a customer for a great product experience—it not only adds value but also populates in the feed of everyone you’ve added.
This consistent exposure contributes to those 12 touches and moves your prospects closer to solving their problem with the solutions you’ve shared. So, be sure you too are adding value to your group!
Share posts that inspire, educate, and build connection—your efforts can make all the difference.
2. Tag
Once you’ve added someone to the group, the next step is to tag them in relevant posts. Think about what they need most—are they interested in a product for energy, weight loss, or financial wellness? Tag them in posts that speak directly to those needs.
- Why this works:
Tagging makes it easy for them to find the right information without scrolling through the entire group. Plus, it helps them feel personally seen and supported.
Example of what to say when you're tagging: Hi [Name], this is the post I mentioned earlier! It covers [specific topic or benefit, e.g., how the gummies supports joint health]. Let me know if you have any questions, and I’ll follow back up with you [day/time you agreed upon].
3. Message
After tagging them, follow up with a direct message to see if they have any questions or need help getting started. Keep it friendly and focused on their goals.
Example Message:
“Hi [Name], I'm following up like we talked about. Have you had a chance to check out the posts I tagged you in? What did you like best about what you saw?”
- Why this works:
Messaging creates a personal connection, shows you care, and helps guide them toward their next steps. Whether it’s placing an order or learning about the business, you’re there to help them.
Why the ATM System Works
The ATM system is powerful because it’s simple, duplicatable, and builds trust. Here are three reasons it’s so effective:
- Social Proof:
When prospects see other people in the group sharing their experiences, it builds confidence and curiosity. - Leverage:
You don’t have to explain everything one-on-one. The group content educates and inspires for you. - Community:
People want to feel like they’re part of something bigger. The group creates that sense of belonging.
How to Get Started
Lets revisit how to properly use the ATM strategy to build your business.
1. ADD – Start the Conversation:
When someone responds to a post or story you’ve shared, ask if they’d like to join a group where they can learn more about what you shared. Then, offer to follow up with them at a specific time by giving three options.
Example: “Would it work better for me to check back with you tomorrow at 10 AM, Wednesday at 7 PM, or Friday morning at 9 AM?”
Once they agree, send them the group link to join.
2. TAG – Provide Value:
After they’ve joined, tag them in one or two posts that directly address their needs or interests. This ensures they get the most relevant information upfront.
Example: Hi [Name], this is the post I mentioned earlier! It covers [specific topic or benefit, e.g., how the greens supplement support energy and immunity]. Let me know if you have any questions, and I’ll follow back up with you [day/time you agreed upon].
3. MESSAGE – Follow Up as Promised:
At the agreed-upon day and time, send a friendly message to check in:
Example: “Hi [Name], I'm following up like we talked about. What did you like best about the post I shared with you?”
Keep It Simple and Consistent
The beauty of the ATM system is that it’s easy to follow. Focus on doing these three steps consistently, and over time, you’ll build a strong, engaged network of customers and business partners.
Remember, you’re not just sharing products—you’re helping people improve their lives. With ATM, you can build your business without pressure or overwhelm, one connection at a time.
Let’s put it into action today!
Be Well,
