Turmeric and ginger are both powerful spices that can boost your health in a number of ways. They have been used for centuries as natural remedies for various ailments, including anxiety, depression, pain relief, rheumatoid arthritis and more. Not only do I drink them to help with gut health and to reduce inflammation, I love knowing that they improve my overall health. I decided to write a blog on how to make ginger & turmeric shots in a juicer so that it can help others like you improve your health too.

How to Make Ginger & Turmeric Shots
Buy fresh organic ingredients
When preparing your juicer shots, you'll want to use organic ingredients. Organic ingredients will ensure that your drink is as healthy and delicious as it can be!
For this recipe, you'll need fresh organic ginger, turmeric, carrots, 1 lemon (any size), and black pepper. Do not use dried ginger when making these shots; dried ginger does not provide the same medicinal properties as fresh does.

Wash the veggies
Use a vegetable scrubber to remove any soil, since you will be juicing them with their peels on.

- Peel the ginger root and turmeric root if you want to use them fresh, but you can also use pre-chopped ginger and turmeric instead.
- Cut off any brown spots on the ginger root or turmeric root (if using).
How I make my shots
Cut the roots into 1-inch chunks
You'll want to use a sharp knife to cut the roots into 1-inch chunks. If you have trouble cutting them evenly, you can use a mandolin or a food processor; just be careful not to slice them too small or they won't fit in your juicer (and they'll also be harder to juice).
As long as your ginger and turmeric root pieces are large enough for your juicer (most juicers will handle chunks up to 3 inches), you're good!
Combine the ingredients
- Place the ginger root, turmeric root, carrots (and any other fruits or leafy greens you have on hand) into your juicer and juice them.
- Add the lemon last so that it doesn’t get stuck at the bottom of your juicer.
Sweeten Your Shots
To make your turmeric shots sweeter, add honey. Raw honey is preferable because it contains naturally occurring probiotics and antioxidants. Its taste has been used for medicinal purposes for centuries.
